The fun and frolic days have begun in MCM DAV College for Women, as the college witnessed the first day of Punjab University’s Zonal Youth and Heritage Festival on September 26th, 2016. Honorable (Mrs.) Kirron Kher accentuated the function with her benign presence. The first day saw a great deal of zeal and enthusiasm with musical performances, quiz and amazing craft and creative competitions. MCM DAV College bagged the first prize in the opening event, Group Shabad. GCG-11, presenting the colour of patriotism, won the first prize in Group Singing. GCG-42 made their college proud by bagging first position in GK Quiz Competition, while Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College for Women, Jhar Sahib, outshone by bagging first position in Rassa Vatna, Mitti de kadhone, Khiddo making and Folk Orchestra. National College for Women, Machiwara and PGGCG-11 won first prize in Peerhi making and Eennu making respectively. Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector-26 won the first prize in Folk Instrumental. The first day ended with sounds of drums and rolls around with girls dancing enthusiastically on their beats.
