With love, Education!

I sit amongst all of you, since you first stepped in your school, but now you’ve left me alone. I am the one you all need but you keep me away from your reach. I am that loner, who wants to speak through your mouth. Yes, I am an enlightening experience. Embrace me; I am your very own, Education.

You all are subjected towards learning since childhood. It has become a perpetual process to spend your time with me and examine, what you have learned from my presence around you? Still sometimes I wonder why, with a degree in your hand, you remain apprehensive about your future? This dilemma has a simple solution! You need to make your books the bridge between your theoretical and practical life.

A few days back, I came to know from Census 2011, that 41% of India’s population is under 18 years of age. But when I read further, the happiness converted into a shock. According to it, 1.4 million children between the age of six and eleven are far away from the ‘Temple of Education’. It appears that I am a trophy, aspired by all but won by a handful of people!

In this hypersonically growing world, you are incautiously exposed to variety of aspects present in the society, both beautiful and ugly. The unlimited information with no filter is explored by you, which directly influences your mind. After reading the article, I switched on to a newspaper and my fingers started to tremble. A boy of 14, after watching adult videos, killed a 9 year old girl and sexually assaulted her dead body. Am I developing you at such a rate that you forget your values, dear boys? Everyday, I see you littering around, for an illiterate to pick it up. Your surrounding is dirty because YOU ARE SO CLEAN!

The hypocrisy running in your veins is a live example of you being ‘Uneducated Literates’. You go behind the curtains to enjoy a night with a prostitute but when you come out, you abhor them publicly. You tie a multi-coloured band around your wrists or upload display pictures to support LGBT, but at your place, you strangle the voice of your brother when he reveals about his varied interest. You see ‘hurriyat’ leaders hoisting the flag of Pakistan on your motherland, but you choose to be quiet. Each day cost a whooping Rs 2 crores for the functioning of Parliament; but you did not object once, when your overtly concerned Congress leaders ruined your hard earned money for 21 consecutive days, this monsoon session. It saddens me, that even after being with you for so long, I couldn’t make you strong.

Did you choose me to make silence your companion or to make the lives of your unfortunate counterparts more miserable? The Value Education lesson that you attended during your school days, taught you to be kind, to shout NO for every wrong move of others, but you rather decided to play with your cellphones! It’s very imperative to understand that the future depend solely on you. The dream you see will get fulfilled only if you act, because your action are a true reflection of your future.

I, your very own love (education) calls upon you, to make full use of me, stretch me to your utmost power, deliver me to the ignorant, exhaust me dynamically. I promise never to leave you alone; I’ll stand by you in your hardest and brightest days, but promise me back, not to waste me ever!
I am that beautiful long road, you will never tire following.
