UILS PU Holds Orientation Session For Freshers


University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), Panjab University (PU) organised an orientation session on July 10th, 2017 (Monday) for new students at the prestigious institute. All the students admitted to 1st semester of B.A./B.Com LL.B. (Hons.) 5 years Integrated programme assembled in the Moot Court Hall in the building at 9:30 in the morning.



The orientation session took place in the presence of the Director and the teaching staff. Freshers were officially welcomed to the institute with introductions of their to-be teachers and were acquainted with the rules and regulations of the institute and the university. Students were also informed regarding the recent changes in attendance requirements for semester exams, in accordance with the guidelines from university authorities.




untitled-design-8To provide more clarity regarding the course structure, new comers were comprehensively appraised with the options available to be chosen as majors and minors. Students were briefed that subjects picked as Majors were to be studied for a period of 3 year and with the new course structure, they were ought to select 2 subjects as minors with the options of selecting either History and Political Science or Economics and Sociology. However, they were also informed that the other set of subjects would automatically fall under the category of majors and vice-versa.

untitled-design-7The aim of the session was to ensure that the freshers were well versed with the rules and regulations and to welcome them to the university.
