Top 5 Things You Just Can’t Stay Without Trying at Stu-C

With just over 3 months in the University and already being swamped with assignments and projects, PU’s Student Centre, famously referred to as ‘Stu-C’ has become my refuge. It is one of the most happening places in town, where something interesting is always taking place; be it Teej celebrations, a band performance or a students’ strike. But the major attraction, at least for me, is the toothsome and surprisingly affordable food. With a variety of options, and a quick service, it is the perfect place for college students to hang out.

Although it is difficult to choose from all the mouth-watering dishes, here is a list of 5 things everyone should definitely try at Stu-C at least once:

1.) Rajma Chawal: Rajma Chawal is the universal favourite food of Indians everywhere, especially Punjabis. None of our occasions are complete without this delicacy being served. And the Rajma Chawal in Stu-C is specially worth devouring. Perfectly spiced and steaming hot, it is the best way to wave hunger a good bye. All of Chandigarh swears by it, and its rich aroma has attracted tourists from all over the country.

point-12.) Foot Long: A variation of the sub, this sandwich is delicious in taste and easy on the pocket. It is a go-to snack for most students, with almost no waiting time and 100% satisfaction. It has fans not only in the University, but also in all the nearby colleges. One of the best sandwiches you’ll ever have, this one is absolutely worth a try.

3.) Spring Rolls: The spicy sauce along with the crunchy rolls makes for one delectable treat. One bite and there is no turning back. Its supreme taste pulls you in and you never want to let go. So try this amazing snack at your own risk. You won’t be able to resist its allure after just one nibble.

4.) Peri Peri Fries: Fries are literally the snack that everyone likes. Piping hot, crunchy potato sticks can make anyone’s day but if we add peri peri masala to it, it takes them up to a whole new level of awesomeness. It is the perfect takeaway food in a short break between classes. Add a glass of coca-cola to this, and the taste is unparalleled. It is among the famed dishes of the Student Centre and addictively delicious.

5.) Grilled Sandwiches: Taking a bite out of the appetizing grilled sandwich laden with molten cheese is a heavenly experience, which one can experience at Stu-C. Deliciously grilled, with tomato sauce on the side, this makes for an excellent lunch option. A perfect remedy for those hunger pangs, these veggie delights are a must have.

Bonus (Because there is no such thing as too much food!):

~ Cold Coffee: In the sweltering heat, the chilled cold coffee provides a much needed relief and in the chilly weather, the occasional cold coffee is a wonderful joy, much like an ice-cream in winters. The best of this caffeinated delight is available at our beloved Student Centre, with chocolate sauce and all. Don’t let the approaching winter stop you from trying this delicious beverage.

This is just the tip of all that Stu-C has to offer. So grab your friends and come to PU’s Student Centre for the best of food, best of conversation and best of entertainment.

Happy Eating!
