Temperature Falls in Chandigarh, Declared Colder than Shimla

As the jingle bells ring, and you are all set to party on till the music is gone, we have in store a special news for all our readers! New Year is round the corner, and all the Chandigarh-ians are ready to celebrate the evening in the most ebullient manner. This year, Chandigarh seems to be colder than Shimla! This is not a very common tale around the city as the hilly regions tend to grow colder, Chandigarh stays in its limit and spares us from freezing.

While the city beautiful has been testimony to cold days and even colder nights, the temperature has been measured to drop down at an increasing rate.  Shimla, the queen of hills and capital of Himachal Pradesh recently noted a minimum temperature of 11ºC in contrast to a chilling temperature of 8.8ºC in Chandigarh.

The Indian Meteorological Department recently put to forth the fact that days of dense fog are in store for Chandigarh in 2017. While Chandigarh’s temperature has been 3 degree below the normal temperature, Shimla’s temperature has been 5 degrees above the normal temperature, and there is even a prediction by the MET officials that Shimla would not witness any snow fall this year.

So it would not be wrong to say that, this year the pleasure of sipping the brews under the starry tents of Sector 17 or the enlightened courtyard of Elante will be a better option in contrast to planning a visit to Shimla.

Winter is here!
