Days of assiduous preparations finally culminated into a grand show, TEDxGGDSDCollege, on August 19, 2017 in GGDSD College, headed by Shivam Malhotra as organizer and Shubham Manchanda as co-organizer. The uplifting ambience of GGDSD became a site for everyone who attended the event. The day started early, with the assembling of all the volunteers at 8:00am in the premises. The attendees were registered on the desk and handled their event kits. The speakers of the first session were Bhawani Srivastava, Dr. Srimathy Kesan, Janki Vyas Ravani, Devanshi Mishra and Nishit Lal.
The event started at 10:00am as the hosts announced the instructions and thanked the sponsors. Mr. Bhawani Srivastava started the event with his inspiring and mind blowing speech. He is the proud entrepreneur at SalesEdge, a firm that specialises in improvement and training of the sales performance in various companies. He has been diligently honing his skills and has established his reputation in various sales management and industrial consultancy roles. The next speaker was Dr. Srimathy Kesan, who has been working to inspire the potent minds of the nation through her venture Space Kidz India, cutting through the international platforms in variants like art, science and culture. Dr. Srimathy Kesan is a colossal storehouse of knowledge and ideation par excellence. Having awards like Women Icon 2017, MAYAN Award to her credit, she is a paradigm of hard work and devotion. Miss Janki Vyas took over the stage next. Being an optimist at heart, Miss Vyas believes in spreading the virtue of happiness in vicinity by becoming a Happiness Coach and Healer. Leaving a well paid corporate job and chasing after her heart’s true desire is not everyone’s cup of tea. The next speaker built her way out of the conventional living and decided to make her own mark by being different, Miss Devanshi Mishra. She is a trained dancer in Kathak for over 17 years along with bollywood and folk dances such as Bhangra, Ghoomar and many others. She is a testimony to the fact that there is no bar in learning. The first session ended with the magnificent speech of Mr. Nishit Lal, who is a certified yoga instructor and had other five personal development books in his name.
After a short lunch break the session resumed with the introduction of the next speaker. Aditya Dev Sharma, an artist and winner of many prestigious awards. Along with his inspiring speech about life, he also painted a picture on stage in honour of the college. The next speaker was a young gentleman, Sumrit Shahi, an ideal example of a young novelist, scriptwriter, freelancer and a journalist. He has been behind the scripts of the most admired 6 youth based shows which also won awards at ‘Zee Gold Awards’ and ‘Indian Telly Awards’. He emphasised how important it is to make wrong choices in life. Doing what you love even if it means going against the flow of society.
As Sumrit ended his talk, the anchors introduced Mr. Yograj Singh on the stage. A former cricketer and an actor, he has come a long way. He shared his valuable experiences of life with everyone and talked about how he raised Yuvraj Singh. His words of wisdom left everyone in the audience spellbound. The final speaker of the evening was Ravi Dubey, a television artist and a performer of his own kind. He shared his experiences and talked about his journey and struggles that he had to go through to make it big in the entertainment industry. “Limited realism, infinite delusion” as he quoted. In the end, a token of love was presented to all the speakers by the principal of the college, Dr. Bhushan K Sharma.
The event ended with an exuberant performance by the band- Satyug. The happy, vibrant and satisfied faces in the end marked the success of the event.
