‘Ruksat 2017’– Bidding Adieu to College Life

The Commerce and Management Department of GGDSD College, Sector 32 organized ‘Ruksat 2017- the farewell party’ to bid adieu to the outgoing batch on April 27th, 2017. The day was full of fun and frenzy having every bit of entertainment available for the students and was graced by the Principal along with the teachers of the department.
The event started off on a jubilant note with second year students narrating out the funny incidents and awkward moments of the seniors followed by an amazing dance performance. The seniors were vociferous in sharing their good and bad experiences, memories and lessons they learnt during these three years. The performances made them reminisce every single day of their college lives and it was a walk down the memory lane for all of them.
The perfect blend of rap and beat boxing was something that grabbed the attention of the seniors and made the crowd groove to the beats. One of the most awaited events of the day was ‘Mr. & Miss Ruksat 2017‘ which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. The perfect ramp walks by the seniors made the stage look like a runway and the crowd engaging performances made it a huge success. The seniors were smart enough to tackle the tricky questions during the question answer round.
Various students from the outgoing batch addressed the college authorities and the batch mates with utmost respect, love and diligence. The organizers left no stone unturned to make it the most memorable day of their lives and provide them with a kitty full of memories. The crowd was highly anticipated with the results of the event which were finally disclosed with Riya crowned as ‘Miss. Ruksat’ and Siddharth Arora bagged the title of ‘Mr. Ruksat‘. Khushaal Amrohi was declared as ‘Mr. Fashionista’ along with Shubhangi Khurana as ‘Miss. Fashionista’. The title of ‘Mr. Personality’ was bagged by Vivek Kukreja and Arshdeep Kaur became ‘Miss Photogenic’. Annika Jotshi won ‘Miss. Charismatic’ and Shahabaaz became ‘Mr. Photogenic’.
The airplane theme of the farewell signified the fact that the outgoing lot is  all set to board a flight to the new journey of their lives leaving behind the college niche. By the end of the day, the crowd was seen shaking legs to the dance tracks, thus giving a perfect end to the day full of entertainment.
A sense of mixed emotions could be felt with some of the students rue over the ending of their college lives while some of them being excited for their new ventures. In a nutshell, the farewell party was one such event that made all the students cherish their college life even better and left an indelible message thus holding true to the adage, ”Don’t be sad that it’s over, instead be happy that it once happened.”
