Rotaract SD Organizes Sports Meet at SOREM

Chandigarh, November 21, 2017: The Rotaract Club of GGDSD College organized a Sports Meet on November 21, 2017 at the Society for the Rehabilitation of the Mentally Challenged, Sector-36, Chandigarh.

“I’m highly obliged to see the youth of the nation working towards the betterment of the society. The Sports Meet has turned out to be a success due to the hard work & perseverance of the members of the Rotaract Club of GGDSD College”, said Mrs. Promila Chandra Mohan, Honorary Secretary of SOREM.

Various sports activities including obstacle race, three-leg, fill the basket race, 25m wheel race, object matching, banana race, lemon & spoon race, sack race, hurdles race, bowling and balloon race were organized by the volunteers.

“The day dawned as a dream come true. It gives us immense pleasure & happiness to have received the opportunity to organize the Sports Meet at SOREM”, said Siddhant Sharma, the President of Rotaract SD.

Tamanpreet Kaur, General Secretary of Rotaract SD further added, “We would like to thank all the volunteers & teachers at SOREM for their unflinching support, so far.”

The event took place under the proficient guidance of the Board of Directors of the Rotaract Club including Bhavya Gaind, Jannat Lamba, Varesh Chaudhary, Shreya Mahajan, Bhavya Chhabra, Sandhya Sharma, and Rakesh Kumar, the Head of Sports Department, SOREM.

Towards the end of the day, the winners of respective activities were awarded with medals & all the participants were given delectable refreshments to gorge upon. Inspiring the young minds to keep going, teacher-in-charge, Mrs. Archana Chaudhry exclaimed, “Never give up!”

Needless to say, the Sports Meet proved to be a blessing in disguise for the students of SOREM as they were seen smiling & enjoying the myriad sports activities.
