‘Raag Desh’ Stars Kunal Kapoor, Mohit Marwah Visit PU


The upcoming period drama, ‘Raag Desh’, directed by the national award winning director Tigmanshu Dhulia is set to hit the theaters on July 28th. This Rajya Sabha TV production has a plot based on the Indian National Army (INA), and mainly revolves around the historical Red Fort trials of 1945.

dsc_0026The team of ‘Raag Desh’ including cast members, Kunal Kapoor and Mohit Marwah, visited the Panjab University on July 18th extending their ongoing promotion campaign to the tricity. The event kicked off in the Law Auditorium with the exclusive screening of the film’s trailer, followed by an introductory address by the varsity’s honorable Vice Chancellor, Dr. Arun Grover. The acting duo engaged in an interactive session with the students present and went on to talk about the intricacies of the film’s structure. Kunal Kapoor who is playing Major General Shah Nawaz Khan in the film laid emphasis on the movie’s ‘creating awareness’ element.

“Our generation does not recognize the heroes of our nation’s history. This movie will bring about a whole new perspective in their minds about the war fought to liberate India.” added the Rang De Basanti star.

pu-1Both the actors spoke about the hurdles they had to jump and had to escape their comfort zone for making this project dead perfect. “It was extremely challenging working myself into this role. I had to transform into a completely different character, and do a lot of research to achieve the perfect balance.” said Mohit Marwah.

Ending an intimate and humble one-hour interaction, the actors invited people from the audience on stage for a fun march past drill. The interaction was further continued inside the Golden Jubilee Hall for an in-house press conference.

Raag Desh comes out on 28th July.
