Poetry Plus Wizardry: A Beautiful Combination

On June 2, 2017 Chandigarh witnessed an evening dedicated to poetry and fiction lovers aiming to raise fund through it for the treatment of a great poet, Anam Narula.
The Order of Merlin in association with Mukhtalif- The Poetry Society of MCM DAV College organized fund raiser event ‘Fan Fiction Fables’ at F-Café & Bar.
It started with a theme, on fiction characters. The setup was giving up lift to the mood of the poets as the organizers were well prepared with wands, hats and houses of potter to start off. Music beats added glitters to the surrounding. The teams were divided and were allotted their houses as on fiction story of Harry Potter- Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin.
Initially all teams were asked to write a fiction story around their favorite characters having minimum length 100 words individually.
On the basis of this activity, houses were scored and their stories were shared out on the stage to boost morale of the poets and appreciate their creativity and art.
It was a fusion of creativity, art & literature, a common ground where beauty of words creates magic and a parallel word of imagination.
After series of activities and writes up. Poetry Slam was lined up, it was time for young poets and writer to showcase their freestyle skills in ciphers and fictions. As soon as it started all the participants submitted their names and initials to get over the stage and shared their world of imagination and creation loud out.
The names were called; each individual has chalked out his own fantasy. Different poems and writes were showcased on each individual part, audiences mesmerized and treated with perks to relive the unrevealed story of their favorite fiction character.
At last, the event ended up high with an “open mic” activity, where magic of words, imagination and creativity happened with a cause and stole the heart of all as event was dedicated to a poet, Anam who is suffering from leukemia and needs a pinch of love, that he has spread all around with his poetry so far, backed for his recovery.
