Kavitactic brought out the beauty of oeuvre by entwining music and poetry in an event, ‘Kavitactic Compositions’ which made Chandigarh a witness to the grand poetic rendezvous at Whistling Duck, Sector 26 on December 19th, 2016. The co-founders, Gursaya Grewal and Prerit Rajput worked for the event with Nipun Cheema, pianist and composer, to get the masterpieces out. An open lecture series was organized by Whistling Duck thereby calling it the ‘Culturati’ of the city to spread the light of their knowledge.

The first open lecture series was by Prof. Sakoon Singh an alumni of JNU, who discusses literature at the Department of English, DAV, Sector-10. She enriched the literature lovers with facts and intriguing questions. Unravelling the views of Plato and Aristotle about poetry, the event got even more interesting. The people were given handouts which encapsulated attractive facts about literature. It felt like the room was filled with plethora of perspectives and ideas, which was truly nourishing for the soul.

The major treat for the soul, however, was the mellifluous voices of six poets who performed their poems with music. Nipun Cheema gave amazing background to their audible-emotions. A beautiful poem, ‘Huliya‘ by Prerit Rajput left the listeners spellbound. Another masterpiece, ‘Planetary‘ by Gursaya was a stellar performance. Amy, Puneet Raj Singh and Srishti Sood scented the air with perfect flavour of poetry.

The next session was the open mic session where a special line-up of poets was done to add delight to the aura. Mr. Jeet Singh performed his beautiful poetry followed by Rupinder and Roshni.

The event was indeed an amazing one. The co-founders concluded the event with their words full of happiness. Chandigarh is a lap to creative souls and the beautiful city thus bloomed with sterling art and talent.
