Education is the force that has been driving the human species towards its growth since mortality and it is completely true that without education we would still have been dependent on stones and spears!
India’s higher education system is third largest in the world and provides world class education to its pupils but still lacks the required mechanism to tackle the malpractices and misinterpretations.
The National Institutional Ranking Framework under the Ministry of Human resource development (MHRD) in India outlines the methodology to rank these institutions across the country on the basis of parameters broadly covering ‘Teaching, Learning and Resources’, ‘Research and Professional Practices’ and ‘Graduation Outcomes’.
This year also ranking of higher educational institutions on the basis of performance was done on April 3 at Delhi by the Minister of Human Resource Development, Prakash Javadekar.
GCG-42 took the center stage with a score of 46.54 and was ranked 32nd. Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma College (GGDSD), Chandigarh was ranked 41st in the list of colleges all over India with a score of 44.56. The college was recently accreted A+ grade by NAAC which places it amongst the top most colleges across the country. The teachers and the students of the college are overwhelmed by this great news and it provides them immense pleasure to be a part of such a great institution.
MCM DAV College for women, Sector 36 has been ranked 74th with a score of 38.84. Panjab University, Chandigarh has tumbled to 33rd spot as compared to its 12th spot last year in the list of best universities across the country. This year the score PU received was 43.13 in comparison to last year’s 76.2 this is a huge downfall.
The downfall has been ludicrous. While students have been talking about how Panjab University is better than Delhi University we are yet to see it on paper.
The rankings on the basis of managements places Indian Institute of management (IIM), Ahmadabad on the first place while the second place was bagged by Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore.
