Online Portal Comes to Rescue for the Grievances Faced by PU Students


Panjab University Campus Student Council (PUCSC) has always been at the forefront in redressing the grievances faced by the students of the University and their recent launch of an online portal stands testament to the same.

In a recent conversation with our correspondent Siddhant Sharma, Vani Sood, General Secretary, PUCSC provided an insight into their recently launched online portal.

As per the recent observation during elections, students feel that we are available only during the elections and thus their problems are not being taken care of. So, we’re opening a portal, dedicated to hostels, messes and canteens, catering to their specific menus, utensils and overall hygiene whereby their voice can reach to the authorities regarding the same.”

The prospectus includes three main aspects. First being the availability of food in the mess and the canteens. The menu often gets repetitive which doesn’t seem fit for all the students. Through this portal, the students can state all problems and suggestions regarding the menu, and if feasible, they will be executed“, she further added.

Speaking about another aspect being the hygiene in the mess she said, “We encourage the students to take an initiative and complain to us if they are facing problems which could directly be brought to the contractors notice, thus insisting upon making the desired changes on the basis of the feedback we get.”

The third aspect is the utensils. For instance, students have reported to the extent of getting cuts from broken glasses. Such problems can be brought to our notice.

So, this portal will basically cover all of these aspects. It is already Live and active from today and for the next ten days.

Vani Sood wrote a notice to DSW, requesting for improvement in the menu of the canteen and mess of hostel.

The portal would be like a Google form which provides the students with a platform to fill up their problems during the next 10 days, after which a meeting will be scheduled with the contractors, wardens of the hostels, dietician of PU, the DSWs and I’ll be there to put forward the suggestions given by the students“, concluded Vani.
