Google recently launched NEXUS 5X, produced by LG. We bring to you the features of this new phone to help you analyse and make a valuable decision.
* Hardware and Battery
The Nexus 5X has a Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 808 processor and a 1.8 GHz hexa-core 64-bit Adreno 418 GPU, which basically means L.G. has made no compromises with hardware. It runs very fast and won’t lag. It is pretty snappy and runs the OS pretty smooth. The battery life on the other hand is not as good. It has a 2700 mAh Battery with a USB Type-C charging system. The battery will last for a day if you are not a heavy user. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which is the latest version of android.Big fan of powerful devices? Go for this one.
Nexus 5X is an extremely handy device, easy to use, easy to keep and easy to carry. The look of the Nexus 5X has turned out to be a disappointment of sorts. It feels extremely cheap in hand. Although if you use it for a few days, you will get used to its feel but you can’t really do anything about all the plastic in the long term which is not so pleasing to the eyes. So, if you are a person who doesn’t like tacky devices, do not go for this phone.
The Camera on the 5X is just brilliant. It has a 12.3 Mega pixel camera with the pixel size of 1.55µm-pixel size, which takes very crisp photos, even in low light. It has a front shooter of 5 Mega Pixel, which is just right to take selfies. The back camera also supports a laser auto-focus, which is pretty snappy and quick. Camera of this phone is one of its best features and has the same lens used which the premium version of Nexus i.e. 6P is loaded with. If you are a cameraperson, totally go for this phone.
The display on the Nexus 5X is pretty cool with it’s 5’2” Corning® Gorilla® Glass 3 display, which has a pixel density of 423 ppi which is lower than the pervious nexus 5 but is good, not brilliant, but good.
* Fingerprint Sensor
Nexus 5X also has a fingerprint sensor on the back which is probably one of the best places to put a fingerprint sensor. It unlocks very quickly and doesn’t fail at all. Get used to not seeing your lock screen. The sensor is very responsive and is good for people who do not have time to put in a passcode every time to unlock their device. I know you must be thinking that what time could you save by that but trust me it is really convenient when you are busy and have to do something quickly on your phone.
The speaker on the 5X is disappointing. Its quality is not up to the mark and as to the placement on speaker, most of the times you end up covering the speaker while gaming which is very annoying. So, if you watch a lot of movies on your phone or listen to music directly from the phone speaker, this is not the phone for you.
Nexus 5X is a good phone. If you are looking for a good camera, snappy processor and convenience of a fingerprint sensor and can make compromises on looks and speaker, then go for it otherwise go for the higher end version i.e. 6P.
