The Chandigarh audition for the Miss Punjab pageant took place on August 2, 2017 in Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar Hall, Department of Laws, Panjab University. The pageant was orchestrated by The Managers Network, an event management, media and fashion enterprise owned by Mr Mohit Sharma, Mr Mubarak Sandhu and Mr Jagjeet Singh. It was organised in association with Serve Humanity Serve God, a charitable trust owned by Mr Amarjeet.
The audition round for Chandigarh was convoked in collaboration with University Institute of Applied Management Science and Department of Laws, Panjab University.
This event welcomed all those girls for whom such pageants are a distant dream giving them a brilliant platform to experience, explore, experiment and learn. The event was convened by Ishaan Sharma, a student of UIDS, Panjab University, who has adjudicated over 55 pageants, including 10 national ones.
Mrs Aman Grewal, Mrs India Worldwide 2014; Miss Aditi Sharma, Miss India Chandigarh 2014, Mr Parvinder Wraich (Producer and Director) and Mr John Bedi (Singer) were invited to adjudicate the pageant. Mr. Kanwar Sidhu, Senior Journalist and MLA of Kharar constituency; Mr. Amit Rana, Co-Chairman of Bar Council of India; Mr. Gursewak Singh Sabi, General Secretary of Chandigarh Body Building and Fitness Association; Mr. Lakhweer Sidhu, First runners up of Mr India and Mr. Amarjeet, Founder of Serve Humanity Serve God graced everyone with their presence as guests of honour.
The event kick-started with a floral welcome to all the dignitaries, followed by tips and words of encouragement by the judges and the guests in honour mentioned. Mr John Bedi applauded the confidence and poise of the contestants and hinted about an upcoming Fitness Modelling Contest which will be held towards the end of this year. The winners will be flown to Hungary for further grooming. Miss Aditi Sharma appreciated the courage and zeal of the contestants who’d come out of their comfort zone to partake in this event. She advised them to simply believe in themselves and watch miracles happen. Mrs. Aman Grewal assured the contestants that it was one of the best platforms that they could get and the opportunities would flow in abundance for most of the contestants after this, be it modelling or acting. Mr. Parvinder Wraich emphasised upon the importance of a toned and fit body and how crucial hard work is required to obtain the same. He stated his belief that these kinds of pageants are the perfect opportunity to showcase that hard work.
Then began the most awaited round of the event, the ramp walk. Girls with beautiful western as well as traditional outfits set the stage on fire. Confident and radiant, the participants oozed swagger and glamour. On the basis of ramp walk, the contestants were selected for the next round. Round two comprised of the Question and Answer Round, where further the contestants were scrutinized and analysed on the basis of their intellect. The audience flocked the venue in good number and cheered the contestants to boost up their confidence. The glitz and glamour of the event left the audience eagerly waiting for more.
