MCM Organised a Tree Plantation Drive


M.C.M. DAV College for Women, in an effort to contribute to the upliftment of its environment, took one step forward in maintaining the beauty of Chandigarh. The college organised a tree plantation drive in collaboration with National Service Scheme (NSS) team of college along with more than 100 volunteers inside the college campus on 1st September 1, 2015.

The team was headed by Mrs. Sarita Chauhan and Mrs. Poonam were joined by the principal, Mrs. Neena Dhawan, Chief Guest Mr. Anurag Aggarwal, IAS, Home Secratary, Chandigarh and Guest of Honour Mr. Bikram Singh Rana, State Liason Officer NSS, U.T. The vibrant volunteers were seen wearing green coloured clothes and planted saplings in the celebration ground of the college along with the above mentioned notable figures. The girls also displayed a variety of posters themed ‘ENVIRONMENT CONSERVATION’ around the college, echoing thought provoking slogans. For the first time ever, the NSS volunteers also performed a flash mob inside the campus to mark the celebration of the plantation drive. The drive by National Social Scheme has been a ritualistic event in MCM since many years and has been appreciated by the respective principals of the institution ever since its inception.
