Admissions were on a spree on July 10th, 2017 at MCM DAV College for Women, Sector – 36 A. “MCM has always carved a niche for itself. It has been rendering quality education since its beginning.” said a professor from the department of Video Reporting.
Day one of admissions in MCM started with a lot of enthusiasm. Though there were also a few shattered hearts that had to face problems because of either low grades or the lack of seats in hostel.
In the first half of the day itself there were more than 300 students who had applied for admission in B.A.-I. The cut off for psychology has gone higher than the last time and is bound to get higher on July 11th because of lack of seats. So, if you’re willing to grab hold of the subject, make sure that you have more than 65%. Similar case goes with Functional English as well. Only a few students opted for subjects like Police Administration and Public Administration.
Add-ons seemed to be quite a catch for both B.A. and B.Com. students. Although there are only 40 seats against each category of Communicative English, French, Interior Designing and Beauty Care, more than 60 students had applied for each course at the end of day one.
Moreover, for B.A. there were about 500+ students who had gotten admission on the first day. On the second day of admissions this amount is about to get more than double.
There were centralized admissions for courses like B.Com. The counselling for this subjects got over on July 3rd. There were only 280 seats at MCM for the same and the schedule for scrutiny is not much stringent because of the same.
However, because of delay in results of the Semester VI, the students who wanted to get hold of M.A. English are in jeopardy. There are students coming from Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir for M.A. English. The provisioned seats based on the result of Vth semester has surely hit girls hard. More than a hundred girls have applied and are competing for 60 seats.
Since, this year at MCM is full of competition. We’ll have to see how it takes a toll on the result.
The fees can be paid online at www.feejunction.com or at the SBI branch of MCM DAV.
