“We measure success in terms of our performers, who find home in Kavitactic” was how Gursaya Grewal, co-founder of Kavitactic began the beautiful evening of the group’s September Chapter.
On 19th September last year, Prerit Rapjut and Gursaya Grewal founded ‘Kavitactic’, the poetry group in order to keep the world of poetry and shayaris alive! This year on the same date, ‘Kavitactic’ turned one and celebrated with ‘3 Din Ka Jalsa’ from September 17th to 19th, 2016.
Day 1: September 17th, 2016:
The evening started in Innov8 Coworking, with the address by Gursaya and Prerit. It also witnessed the presence of the ‘Person of Prose’ Mr. Khushwant Singh, who beautifully described how everyone has either a story teller or poet inside. He stated how a person is ‘Diler’ to tell his/her story! As the evening went on, the poems in Hindi, Punjabi and English by various amazing poets left everyone awestruck. The mesmerizing evening ended with Prerit announcing the official ‘Membership of Kavitactic’, which left the audience hooting and excited to be officially a part of it on yearly basis.
Day 2: September 18th, 2016:
‘Kavitactic’ kickstarted Sunday with a lot of positive vibes. They joined hands with ‘I Am Still Human’ and spent the second day of celebration with old and elderly at Old Age Home, Sector 15. The gala began with heart to heart conversation with old citizenry, and ended with music and lively dancing. The poets shared their views, songs and poetry with those within the boundaries of Old Age Home. Reflecting the same, Vivek Mehra, founder of ‘I Am Still Human’ laid emphasis on the human virtue and values that are revitalized because of such activities. Undoubtedly, people at old age home were content and triumphantly joyful. Kavya Bhatia, the residential manager appreciated this event and said that such activities should be encouraged, as it simply enlarge the state of peaceful happiness.
Day 3: September 19, 2016:
The ‘3 Din Ka Jalsa’ finally came to its last junction as Kavitactic celebrated its birth-anniversary on Monday, September 19th, 2016. It was held at CoVeda alternative school at sector-18, with the founders Gursaya Grewal and Prerit Rajput as kind hosts. There was not only poetry, interaction and humor, but also self-reflection by the members. There were activities arranged that helped people connect with each other, create something unique with words and self-expression, and also ponder upon their connection to the poetry inside. As the evening came to an end, there was a performance by the band ‘Kissa’, as they filed the air with their melody.
