Gandhi Bhawan of Panjab university witnessed a sensational modelling show with the aim to shortlist and select the top models from Chandigarh. There was fresh and naive talent all buckled up for the event. It started at around
10 A.M with models coming from all over the country. The respected jury consisted of Pranav from love school season 2 , Jainu kanwar from London fashion week scout,Sanjeev rathore – Mr Punjab and the owner of srf fitness brand , Abhinav Jain – Mr. North India Finalist, Manjul Nagar – North India Top Model and represented India in Nepal and Bobby Galleria – Owner of Daah Films. The judges based their results on the basis of two rounds, one being the acting round and the other would be a ramp walk among the candidates selected from the first round. It was the first ever event In which all men, women and transgenders were competing with each other. Sri Lankan youth Delegates also came to Enlighten the auditions.
The event was organized by Sea lord entertainment. The event was surely a killer one as it was the first ever cultural show which consisted of 3 major items being a reality show, web series and a beauty pageant all jam-packed under a single roof.Talking to us about the vision of the event, Mr. Manjul Nagar said – “ With the event we aim to give the contestants one of the biggest opportunity to be on t.v and also being the first icon.The main reason is to promote our Indian culture and the diversity which we have in our country which is somewhere lost due to the growing modernisation. We aim to bring our diverse culture on a larger and global platform. ”
There would be various auditions conducted in different cities from which a winner would be shortlisted. He/ She would get 1 lakh in cash and other incentives such as various assignments to work on. The add on of course includes grooming on a professional level and all the other perks which the film industry provides us. It was also one of the first ever events where transgendered could participate. There were a total of 100+ entries (both online and offline) from Chandigarh.
The overall contestants from the country who appeared for online and offline auditions are over 500 out of which those shortlisted will be competing with each other in December in a reality show.( No winner is decided yet)
The event was concluded around 4 with the winners to be declared the next day. Due to personal reasons the organizers do not wish to disclose the names, but there were contestants selected from Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh , Punjab , Haryana and Gujarat on the basis of online and offline auditions. Shikha (one from the audience) also expressed her joy seeing Indian culture on a modelling platform.
