Hardik Dhamija and Kunaal Satija: Making Way Through GATE

Adding two more numbers to the achievers’ list of Panjab University, Hardik Dhamija & Kunaal Satija, UIET students of 2009-2013 batch have not only succeeded in bringing about an online educational thrust via EduRev.in, but now have also made the university proud by launching a free GATE prep app for GATE aspirants all across the country, in collaboration with prominent teachers in the city, Vijayender and Gurwinder Singh at Engineers Career Point.

What sets their app apart at this stage is that with the first release, it has features such as free practice mock tests for the GATE 2017 exam (ME, CE, EE & EC), subject-wise tests (ME, CE, EE & EC), past year papers (All Branches), free online All India Mock Test on January 28 & 29, 2017 (ME, CE, EE & EC) and all the mock tests are provided with a virtual online calculator to help students adapt to the online tool before the final examination.

We were in touch with the developers themselves, for a small interlocution.

uiet-2-1Q.) What led to the development of this app? What drove you?
Honestly, as a student, I didn’t prepare for any competition exam in my college time at PU because I knew that the financial conditions were not in my favor and a lot of money had already been spent on the primary education. All these years I have been thinking of doing something in order to help people, who wish to study so that they won’t face any sort of problem. With the help of technology & internet, when we can do almost anything at a click, then why not study. So, here we are with this GATE prep app. If a student wish to study for GATE, we have got an app to help out.

Q.) What has went into making this app?
We started our journey after college with a vision to provide free education to students all across the nation because we believe that education is our birthright and everyone should get it independent of the financial condition of the student. When we looked deep in this market, we realized that a lot of money is being spent in the preparation of entrance examinations. So, we started looking for the teachers with a similar mindset and fortunately we found two (Vijayender and Gurwinder Sir at ECP). This free “GATE Prep App” is the first step towards our vision to provide free education.

Q.) What is the USP?
To ensure the best quality, while developing it, we tested it with 2500 students from all across the nation and launched the version with features and content which got the highest approval. The recently launched app has been downloaded by 400 students in just 2 days with an average of 4.9-star rating on Google Play Store.

Q.) Who will all be benefited through it?
More than 6,50,000 students who are planning to appear for GATE Exam this year in Feb, 2017 or planning to prepare for the same in future.

Q.) How can students access this app?
Students can download this free app through- edurev.in/ecpgateapp
