Grooming Workshop for MCM Divas by Tress Lounge

To tinge up the beauty level of the girls of MCM DAV College, its Cosmetology Department organized a workshop on “Makeup and Hair Styles” in collaboration with Trèss Lounge on 27th January 2015.

The event started with a warm welcome to the whole Trèss Longue Team, Mrs Inderjeet Kaur, the heading operator of tress Lounge; Miss Shalini Malhotra, Make Up artist with 16 years of experience in this field; Miss Shreya, Academy Counselor for Tress Longue Academy and Mr Amit, the marketing person of the same.
Mrs Inderjeet Kaur discussed about Makeup and what a sensitive and beautiful art it is. She emphasized how a simple base can change your entire look. Some routine make up tips and hairstyles were shared with the students so that they can break free from their monotonous look.

Several tips were given to the students about how to get ready for a routine work day. As told, 5 essential item to be added in the beauty kit were, BB Cream, Brow Palate, a highlighter, contouring product and a lip palate for different shades.

Students also learned to make a spiral-messy fish tale to go with their everyday outfits. From eye make up to cheeks to lips, Mrs Shalini described about every little nuance to be kept in mind while getting ready for a subtle look. Divyani Sharma a BA third year student, Ritika Sachdeva from BA 3rd year and many students from the audience tried their hands in this art of makeup.

Mrs Inderjeet explained about the right selection of beauty products and how to test your skin type. She made them acquainted with the fact that the skin type is prone to change after some months. So for that she described a Tissue paper test to be the best way to check one’s skin type. The first step is to wash your face before going off to sleep. When you wake up in the morning, keep a tissue paper on your face and press gently. If the tissue has oil spots everywhere, you have an oily texture; if just the T area has oil, then you are gifted with a combination skin; blessed are those who find oil spots on the nose and the chin area, as they have a rarely found normal skin; and lastly with no trace of oil on the tissue paper your dry skin gives a perfect indication.

The Tress Lounge team also conducted a question-answer round where the students won many gift vouchers from the salon. Mrs Inderjeet went on to describe about the courses available for soon to be makeup artists. The session ended with beautiful smiles on everyone’s face and with a sense of satisfaction a good grooming lesson could bring.
