It’s half past 2016 and by now, every second person alive is probably addicted to the highest anticipated fantasy-drama, ‘Game of Thrones.’ So, I don’t specifically have to say, that stop reading this article if you haven’t watched it yet. Well, you must be here because you are a regular watcher in the first place, of course.
The curtains of the sixth season closed just a few days back. But, what a season it was! No doubt, the season finale crossed the record of most viewers for an episode with 8.89 millions approximately. Now that we only have memories of it, let us re-visit all the episodes of season 6 to announce who all won, and who all lost this ongoing filthy, ‘Game of Thrones.’
Starting with the losers,
1.) House Bolton:
Being the highest rated episode ever, ‘The Battle of the Bastards’ eventually ended the long reign of House Bolton over Winterfell, giving viewers the most gratifying death of the show ever. Also, many thanks to Ramsay Bolton for stabbing his father and feeding his baby brother to his hounds, which made it easier for their extinction. Way to go!
2.) The Children of the Forest:
In this season, we got to learn that they were the one, who brought the white walkers into being. Thanks to Bran, now ‘The Children of the Forest’ are probably extinct. Not much to say. But surely, what goes around, comes around, eh?
3.) House Lannister:
Even though Cersei torched her enemies, especially the High Sparrow and his birdies, she lost more than she gained! With Tommen taking the words ‘King’s Landing’ way too literally (got the pun?), all her children are dead and gone now. Being the mad queen for what she is, and what all she could do; even along with Ser Gregor Clegane by her side, she is still at a huge loss because…
across the sea…
And, here come the winners!
4.) Daenerys Targaryen:
Across the sea, the Queen of Andals, Mother of Dragons and what not, finally set the sail to take what was always her’s! Thanks to Yara and Greyjoy for the ships! Thanks to the Unsullied, the Dothraki and Tyrion, who was promoted as ‘Hand of the Queen.’ And of course, how can we forget 3 baby dragons. Daenerys seemed like the unstoppable tsunami, heading north of the Westros! And the calm before the storm is really disturbing, if one must listen carefully.
5.) House Stark:
After how many seasons, did you see the Starks in such an exultant category? With Bran learning to control his warging abilities; Arya ending the worst ever internship at Braavos with Many-Faced God, and single-handedly sabotaging House Frey; Sansa and Jon finally winning back their home, Winterfell; Starks are the real winners of the season. Just that, losing Rickon was morose, but it’s ‘Game of Thrones’ after all. That was imminent. If you’re a true Stark fan, I bet you got that Stark-gasm when the wolf banners were finally laid down the walls of Winterfell!
Two Northerners, two Lyannas, two Houses, too fantastics! The most awaited and anticipated fan theory took the viewers on edge in the season finale, when Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen were revealed to be the parents of Jon Snow (or expected real name ‘Jaehaerys Targaryen’). Meanwhile, the 10-years-old Princess of the Bear Island, Lyanna Mormont was the most entertaining, yet scary. With her brilliant acting, Bella Ramsey showed that Lyanna was a real badass and had balls bigger than most men in whole of the Westros!
Lyanna Mormont for president!
