Day 1 of the two day festival, ‘Frippery’, started off with a bang on February 11th, 2017. Living up to its promise of an exciting blend of food, music and shopping, this event at Leisure Valley, Chandigarh saw a massive turnout.
Organised by a team of aspiring event planners from SD College, it took these enterprising individuals about 3 months to plan and execute this extremely happening event, amidst various ups and downs. All their hard work paid off as ‘Frippery’ was ‘the place to be at’ for everyone, whether you are a foodie, music enthusiast, art lover or a shopaholic.
Stalls of popular food joints like Uncle Jack’s, Cheeze Box and Nabobs, provided the much needed break to visitors, who needed some refreshment, so that they could continue shopping and exploring all the amazing things at stalls like Rachit Khanna’s Turquoise, Uber Styles and Red Box among others. Aashray, a trust aiming to uplift the poor, chose this event as platform to spread their message, while Tree Box’s stall was a delight for nature enthusiasts. From Herman’s House of Art’s exclusive exhibit, to a special exhibition of pots and planters, to the Art Buffet by Sargam, Frippery had a little something for everyone.
While the sunshine brought out the shoppers, the evening was for all the music lovers. Live and electrifying performances by the Music Room, Loose Puppets and Runway brought out the dancer in everyone. Swaying to the beats, and forever capturing these memories at the rocking Photobooth, this turned out be quite an unforgettable night for Chandigarh.
Day 2 promises to be even a lot more fun!
