The four day free self-defence workshop which was organised by Chandigarh Choi Kwang Do Federation at Bal Bhawan, Sector 23, Chandigarh, came to an end this Saturday, July 8, 2017. Smt. Asha Kumari Jaswal, Mayor of Chandigarh was the chief guest of the occasion.
Highly enticed by the workshop she said, “Choi Kwang Do is an amazing amalgamation of aerobic & anaerobic training, self-defence, cross training, & fitness. It feels so good to be a part of this workshop. It is an amazing initiative for the girls, who have been made well-versed with self-defence techniques, which will ultimately contribute towards putting a halt to criminal delinquencies.”
“Hailing its roots from yoga, Choi Kwang Do is a 21st century modern scientific martial art which promises to keep various diseases like arthritis, osteoporosis, & other cardiovascular diseases at bay. This Self Defence Workshop had primary focus on target training, defence techniques, and a myriad range of yoga exercises. I am glad that this workshop concluded in flying colours”, said Master Bikram Thapa, President of Chandigarh Choi Kwang Do Federation.
The students of Chandigarh Choi Kwang Do Federation participated in speed drill, demo fight, and boat breaking.
In addition to the self-defense workshop, Sandeep Kaur, Aashima Nidhi & Taraksh Bagla were awarded 1st Degree Black Belt, Karan Bagla & Aayush Agnihotri were awarded 2nd Degree Black Belt, and Purna Gautam was awarded 3rd Degree Black Belt.
The last day of the self-defense workshop witnessed people of all age group shedding those extra pounds around their belly. Thereby, paving way to a healthier lifestyle. Regular Choi Kwang Do classes will resume at Bal Bhawan, Sector-23, Chandigarh daily at 5:30-7:30 PM.
