Yes, at one point of time, we are done with all the branded eating joints and want something DESI, something APNEPAN se BHARA. It is then that Chandigarh shows its warm welcoming aura to all the foodies around the world.
From the basic dinner eateries to take away snacks, you would find the tastiest food around in here.
Though, the number of such places is increasing tremendously, but some places which have been Chandigarhian’s evergreen favourite are here on a go
1.PAL DA DHABA:
If you are a vegetarian, then this is an ecstasy that you have definitely missed on and would regret! I wish they had named it “Pal’s kamaal da chicken”. From spicy to cheesy, it offers the best non-vegetarian dishes in the city. Rightly so, it will definitely top every non-vegetarian’s list of eating joints, come on don’t you know that all celebs visit the place from Rishi Kapoor to Katrina Kaif!
2. KERALA FAST FOOD, PHASE 5:
The movie, ‘2 States’ would have definitely made you believe that South Indian food is not made for Punjabi people. But I know that this place would prove it wrong. A small outlet, operating since Feburary, has gained popularity for its authentic South Indian preparation. The food is served on banana leaves which gives it an altogether amazing experience. The guy who owns this place is a Tamil and is all set to win all the Punjabi hearts!
3. NIGHT-FOOD STREET:
After the ‘two minute wali maggi’ been banned, it is a place or perhaps a saviour for your midnight snack pangs and ‘chhoti bhukh’. Yes, it is your own Night-food Street opposite the Panjab University campus. Be it any time of night or day, this place remain as crowded as the Sukhna lake and serves the best chaat, tikki and other street food items.
4. HOT STOPEE, SECTOR 17:
The best take away in the city, it offers the best range of rolls, sandwiches, subs and burgers at the most economical price. From paneer to chicken, there isn’t anything left that doesn’t feature on their menu.
5.KRISHNA CHAT BHANDAR, SEC 23:
‘Teekha, chatpata aur karara’! This place gives you every girl’s favourite- golgappe, tikki, pav bhaji, chaat papri, bhalla papri and many more munches. So, if you have that craving for ‘teekha ya chatpata’, then it is definitely going to be your stop!
