Fashion Fame India, a production house from Delhi, conducted auditions in Chandigarh for their upcoming fashion show on June 15, 2017. The auditions were held at Hotel Sunbeam, Sector 22, Chandigarh. About 21 people gave auditions for the same and 11 people got selected for the show. Contestants belonging to Chandigarh and nearby areas of Punjab and Haryana gave the auditions. All the contestants were students or fresh pass out from colleges. Mayank Gupta, the owner of the production house, was the organiser of the show. He conducts fashion shows in Delhi and gives break to upcoming models.

The event was coordinated by Mr. Gaurav Choudhary and Ms. Naveen Sirohi who herself has done a modelling assignment for Fashion Fame in Delhi. The event was judged by Mr. Mayank Gupta, model and owner of the production house Fashion Fame in Delhi and Ms. Jasjeet Kaur, supermodel who has numerous advertisements and music videos under her belt.

The auditions consisted of three rounds – the introduction round, the catwalk round and the talent round. The participants were asked to walk the ramp and introduce themselves in the first round. They were asked different questions like why do they want to pursue modelling or whether their parents support their career choice. In the second round, the contestants we taught how to carry themselves while walking on the ramp. Finally in the third and the last round, the participants were asked to sing their favourite song and to dance on any song of their choice. The main aim of this exercise was to make the contestants more confident and help them let go of their shy attitude in front of the audience. This is because confidence is of utmost importance to be a successful model.

After the audition, the names of the selected models were announced and they were given tickets to the fashion show. This was followed by a group photograph of the judges and the contestants. This was followed by a question-answer session where the contestants enquired about travel charges and stay. The judges also explained the fee structure of the grooming classes which the contestants have to attend before performing on the ramp which also includes the portfolio fee. The grooming class will last for 4 days before the final show.

This was a good experience for the contestants as the judges were friendly and open to them. There was no audition fee for the contestants and they got some insight into the glamour and working of the modelling world.
