On 26th October 2016, UILS along with the JAZBA Committee organized a talk by Major General Raj Mehta, a leadership mentor, on ‘Excellence and You’ and ‘Indian Women in Uniform’.
It was an interactive session and was galvanizing for the students. The subject matter of the talk was that our society needs a vision correction. It is not only the women who need empowerment but also the men need to be encouraged. It was emphasized that excellence is gender free. The stereotypes need to be broken so that the excellence that we aspire can be achieved. One should discover one’s potential to achieve the goals he/she adheres to.
Talking about women in uniform, he enunciated that women can contribute a lot Indian Army just as they do by playing the role of a daughter, a mother or a wife. He highlighted how women must set their boundaries unabashed.
He concluded by saying that, women must be respected and taken care of not because they are weak but because they deserve it.
