The newly formed student’s forum involving the students of social science of DAV College, Sector 10, in collaboration with ‘Rajiv Gandhi National Institute Of Youth Development’ Regional Centre, Chandigarh organised a ‘Youth Leadership Program’ for empowering students on 6th November, 2015. Principal B.C. Josan welcomed the participants and congratulated the students of the Forum on their first activity. ‘It is a sincere effort to inculcate the values of social awareness, team spirit, activism and sensitization’, he said.
The key speaker was Mr. Stanzin Dawa, Regional coordinator, Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Youth Development, Regional Centre, Chandigarh. He brainstormed the students about the whole leadership process and stressed about the importance of positivity, team work, internal motivation, a good sense of humor and development of an attitude of gratitude in building up good young leaders.
He inspired the audience in trying to make way when life almost comes to an end and also emphasized on the role of a teacher in transforming lives of students.
‘Synthesis’ is a student’s forum formed under the mentorship of social science faculties of the College for the purpose of sensitizing the youth towards various social issues, to develop social activism, to promote the spirit of participation and engage them in constructive dialogue. It aims at encouraging and empowering the students to do their bit and motivate others for making society a better place to live in.
