Chandigarh witnesses a Salsa Slam


Well, what’s better than tapping your feet in sync to the mesmerising beats with a partner during the Valentine’s week. And in order to make this particular dream of the youth of the city hold true, a fundraiser event by the name of Salsa Slam was held under the aegis of Rotaract Club Chandigarh Himalayan. 

Organised in full swing at the Community Center in Sector 19 on February 9, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from beginners tapping their toes to the scintillating beats. The Salsa Slam was a 3 day Salsa workshop for beginners which saw its culmination on February 12 with the event finale.

With the main purpose of raising funds for the upkeep of Happy Schools run by the club, the event saw people turning up in huge numbers crossing a huge five hundred, celebrating Valentine’s with a pinch of change. While ensuring that the event creates utmost hype before and after its occurrence, it was an event to be cherished by all.

Rotaract Himalayan, a non profit organization in the city is run by students and has been contributing to social welfare with its events like Roshni and Pirates of the city. The club has adopted six schools under it’s concept of Happy Schools and with it’s active volunteers and funds collected through it’s various events, they are looked after well. Salsa Slam too was one such event that gained immense momentum throughout.

Rotract Himalayan has been a turning point in many lives, their charities has changed many people’s lives into a better ones. We hope to see more such events organised by the Rotract Himalaya, until then adios!
