A bike rally was organized by the Rotaract Club of DAV College, Sector-10, Chandigarh on November 10, 2017, with the view to create breast cancer awareness.
The rally kick-started from DAV College, and further paved way to Sector-3 & came back to the start point Via Madhya Marg, with about 75-80 Rotaractors dwelled in an immense fervor to create awareness for this noble cause. The program was the last event to give a closure to their awareness week. The Rotaractors were seen to be in their full zeal and each one of them was spotted enjoying the rally as much as they could.
Breast cancer is the most common invasive cancer in women, and the second main cause of cancer death in women, after lung cancer. Breast cancer is now the most common cancer in most cities in India, and 2nd most common in the rural areas. It accounts for 25% to 32% of all female cancers. This implies, practically, one-fourth of all female cancer cases are breast cancers.
The President of the Rotaract Club of DAV College, Arshi, stated, “We are really proud about the role that we are playing in the society with crusades like these and this is just one small step is veritably going to be the inspiration for our future drives.”
“This is a conduit to make people more aware of this fiend of the society and to incite them to not to take it lightly and get themselves diagnosed with at the earliest encounter”, she further added.
She thanked the members of the club and the Chandigarh Administration for playing a significant role in making this Bike Rally a success.Keeping in view the augmenting rate of breast cancer in women, the Rotaract Club of DAV College strived to create awareness in order to put a halt to the same.
Breast Cancer Awareness is the way to go or it will be better to say- the only way to go. This was precisely what the Pink Drive was all about- making people aware of this sort of cancer and the fact that its early detection can save one from death.
