Lit up brightly, the hall looked magnificent, awaiting the ex- students to step back in time. Tons of smiles and a million hugs filled the aura while ex-college mates clicked selfies like the teens they once were. This is how the Alumni Association of MCM DAV College for Women, AMDA organised an meet at Gymnasium Hall on Saturday, 30th January 2016.
The event began with an address by the convener of AMDA, Dr Gurvinder Kaur, who handed over the dais to four alumini namely Ms/Mrs Vibha, Gayatri, Navjot and Simran who played the anchor for the day.
MCM’s nightingale, Paramjot then enthralled the audience with her mesmerizing voice on a Punjabi song and other composed by Dr Simmi Walia, the HOD Music Department.
It was followed up by the rhythm of old numbers by Rodriguez band and the Guess-the-Song game which kept the already excited audience in the active mode.
The address by principal, Dr Nisha Bhargava paved way for the display of videos of those who wanted to be a part of the evening but couldn’t be present. Thus connecting them virtually with their old classmates.
This was followed by an open stage where those present danced to the beats of old as well as new numbers. Last but not the least, funds were raised as a part of the “Giving Back Initiative” for the Solar Lights Project of the college and thus concluded the wonderful evening.
