Admissions in Full Swing: 65% Seats of BA I Filled in PGGC11

BA I admissions in Post Graduate Govt. College, Sector-11 appeared to be in full swing on 10th and 11th June, 2017 as freshers came milling in with their parents. PGGC– 11 offers 1000 seats in BA out of which 648 seats have already been filled in the three days.

The cut-off on July 10, was above 75%, on July 11 it was above 65% and on July 12 it was above 60%. The counseling started at 94% for outside UT pool, and 93.4% for UT pool.

About 124 of the seats for outside UT pool were filled by July 11, and an additional 333 of UT pool were filled by then. On July 12, 61 seats of outside UT pool were occupied and 130 of UT pool were filled, raising the total occupancy  to around 185 & 463 for outside UT pool and UT pool respectively.

The cut-off for outside UT students was 83% on day one, and around 50 of these seats were filled on the first day itself. The next day the cut off was 75%, and 70% the following day. It is expected that these seats will be completely filled before the last day of counseling.

This was the second consecutive year that admission in BA I were opened to female students as well, and around one-third of the students that have taken admission so far are girls.

The admissions for BA I year will continue till July 13 and the tentative cut off by then will be 55% for UT pool, 60% for outside UT (if any seats remain) and 50% for reserved categories. The venue will remain same i.e. the college auditorium.
