A lot to read!

“Little drops of ink festooning your page,
Ravels my mind in those lovely phrase;
We remain awake all day and night,
You are my partner forever- The light of my life.”

There are times, when some famished thoughts revolve inside our head, all hungry for imagination, illustration or intellect. Then enters a BOOK at once to our rescue with its daunting valour. Yes, I am talking of any x, y, or z book you read, cherish, pamper or may be, desire! Books are those little beings who weave us in their beauty even if they do not carry a picture of a ‘setting sun’ or ‘twinkling star’. The power of words speak through them where our happiness or sadness slowly mingles with it.

They are so capable a being, who can be surreal at one time; can provoke our thoughts; change our believes; create confusions; bring tears or smiles; ignite your curiosities or even MAKE YOU BELIEVE THAT HARRY POTTER IS FOR REAL (He might be)! The way it reads, it take us away from home to an another world which is full of surprises and feelings! Once we’ve started the journey, we don’t wish to come back!

I remember reading ‘Memoirs Of Geisha’  once. It took me just a day and a half to complete that book (by escaping my lunch and dinner), as it roused my eagerness to an uncontrollable limit. This is what it does to you, ‘MAGIC’ or sometimes create craziness!

Even if it does not have a mouth like us to speak, it can still reduce us to tears with its beauty of expression. We all cried when Landon came to know about Jamie’s disease and how he catered to her every dying need (A Walk to Remember) . Sometimes it also portrays a character which incite the little monster within us to draw a dagger at Lord Henry’  from ‘A Picture of Dorian Gray’ or at lago from ‘Othello’. It might even inflate the bubble of love and admiration when we see the hero of our hearts Mr Darcy confess his love for Elizabeth. (“You have bewitched me body and soul and I love and love and love you” – Pride and Prejudice). There is an endless list of emotions which a book can bind us with.

Sir E.L. Doctorow once said,” Writing a novel is like driving a car at night. You can only see as far as your headlights, but you can make the whole trip that way”. Well Sir, apparently we are ready to blindly follow the trail. From Leo Tolstoy’s romantic drama (Anna Karenina) to Dan Brown’s suspense-thriller (Inferno) or from Orhan Pamuk’s romance-mystery to Toni Morrison’s atrocious fiction (The Bluest Eye) the list of these naughty creatures is immeasurable and matchless. Nobody can equate a place equal to our favorite book in our hearts.

In the dying trend of book reading, they desperately need an elixir of life. It is an urge to all my friends to go and find yourself a best friend, who can play different roles in your life- a partner in crime, a lover who’ll never break your heart or simply a buddy who’ll never complain.

Ending my words, a special gift for my reader friends to feed their hungry souls on the list of these 5 best selling novels of this world.
1.  A Tale of Two Cities – Charles Dickens
2. The Lord of the Rings – J.R.R. Tolkien
3. And Then There Were None – Agatha Christie
4. She: A History of Adventure – H. Rider
5. The Little Prince (Translated) – Antoine de Saint- Exupery

Enjoy a Good Read!
