7 Indian Literary Workpieces To Swear By

Indian folks, here we get you seven greatest literature masterpieces which brought in a new wave in culture, traditions, patriotism and politics of India.

 1. Valmiki’s Ramayan:-

point-1The Valmiki’s Ramayana is the oldest epic  which describes the human life through the character of Lord Ram. It is a Sanskrit literature written by Vamiki. The Ramayan consists of 24,000 verses in seven books (kāṇḍas) and 500 cantos (sargas) and tells the story of Ram, whose wife Sita was abducted by Ravana, the king of Lanka. Incidentally, the first letter of the 1000 verses make the Gayatri Mantra.

Valmiki Ramayan is considered the toughest literature to understand if anybody is having no relation with Sanskrit. But it is the largest written work dedicated to mythology and hence,is a must read.

2. Mahabharat:-

1Written by Vedavyas, Mahabharat is a tale of Kuru Royal House, suffering from internal conflicts for power and wealth. The family battle between Kauravs and Panda’s is the core of this epic.  Among the principal works and stories in the Mahabharat are the Bhagvath Gita, the story of Damayanti, an abbreviated version of the Ramayan, and the Rishyaringa, often considered as works in their own right. Mahabharat is the longest epic and was not written by Vedavyas only, but was compiled by others during different times.

3. Kautilya’s Arthashastra:-

arthashastraPenned down by Vishnugupt Chanakya (also called Kautilya), a political science teacher at Takshshila, Arthashastra is the best compilation of the political scenario of Magadha period of Indian History and the class division of Indian society.

4. Goswami Tulsidas’ RamacharitManas:-

poinyThe best description of the life of Ram is Ramcharitmanas, written by  Goswami Tulsidas Dwivedi. This is an amalgam of Hindi,Sanskrit and Awadhi. It is a substitute for Valmiki Ramayan, which is a Sanskrit epic hymn. Ramacharitmanas is easy and simple to understand.

5. Panchatantra:-

point-5Written by Acharya Vishnu Sharma, Panchatantra is the compilation of stories on moral values, politics and society. These stories are full of enjoyment for both children alike.

6. Vatsyanana’s Kamasutra:-

kamaThis literature, written in Sanskrit, is based on the ancient concepts of love and romance. It is a description of Indian society scenario with sex education.  It also focussed on the social issues of castes ism and class division.

7. Anandmath:-

untitled-1The explosive,the patriotic,a danger to British, Anandmath was a weapon for exploding anger of Indian people against the British empire. A Bengali novel, written by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyaya and published in 1882. It was set in the background of the Sanyasi Rebellion in the late 18th century. It is considered one of the most important novels in the history of Bengali and Indian literature. Its importance is heightened by the fact that it became synonymous with the struggle for Indian independence from the British Empire.

Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay introduced the word “Vande Mataram” and created a storm of Inquilaab among people which was a threat to the British. Hence, Anandmath was banned by the British in India.

There ere are numerous accounts to prove the greatness of Indian writers. They are indeed the victorious warriors of literature.
