Punjab is famous for its lassi, which is a summer drink, found in any dhaba or restaurant. Traditionally, it is served with breakfast or to beat the scorching summer heat. Lassi is sweet as well as salty and made by blending yogurt, water, spices and sugar.

Yes, we all know that the landmark of amritsar is Golden temple but in cuisine it’s famous for Amritsari Kulcha which is a potato stuffed prantha served with chane, pickles, onions and loads of butter. These pranthas cooked in tandoor gives them a crisp smoky flavour.

Punjabi people love fried food and potatoes, but combining the two give us yet another mouth-watering delicacy of Punjabi, which is Aloo tikki. It is a deep fried mashed potato cake blended with spices served with sweet spicy chutneys, raita and loads of salad.

4. Chole Bhature

As the name suggests ‘bhature’ referring to the fried flat leavened bread while ‘chole’ refers to white chickpeas in spices. Chole bhature is a wholesome, flavourful and heavy dish. In Punjab, you may find various stalls, shops and resturants serving this dish. It’s one of the most loved dish of Punjabis.

It is a well-known fact that most of the Punjabis love to eat non-veg , so chicken not being in this list would make it incomplete. Chicken cooked in a tandoor overloaded with spices, butter and tanginess completes this dish.
